ALS Research Grant (up to $5,000)

About this program

The Australian Linguistic Society offers research grants up to $5,000 to support projects under the general heading of linguistics; applicants apply via an online form and must provide a detailed, itemised budget and justification. Eligible budget items include accommodation, consultant payments and travel, while conference travel is generally excluded unless strongly justified and equipment funding is only in exceptional cases. Principal applicants must be current financial ALS members at the date of submission; multiple applicants are allowed but each must supply separate applicant details. Applicants must disclose other funding sources or pending applications and any departmental/supervisor support, must not include GST in the budget (university-administered grants must arrange GST-free invoicing), and successful applicants will sign a contract, account for expenditure and submit a final report.
