About this program

Offered by the American Marketing Association Foundation, the Robert Lusch Early Career Research Award recognizes an early-career scholar whose article in an AMA journal advances novel theories or conceptual frames to improve understanding of consumers, markets, or marketing actions; the award is presented at the AMA Winter Academic Conference. Eligible articles must be published in an AMA journal and be directly based on the nominee’s dissertation or on research conducted and published within five years after earning a PhD, with substantive relevance to areas influenced by Robert Lusch (e.g., marketing channels, retailing, service marketing, consumer culture theory, transformative consumer research, and innovation). Nominees must be AMA members, hold a PhD in marketing or a related discipline obtained within five years of the award year, demonstrate additional scholarly contributions and a tradition of service aligned with Lusch’s work, and be submitted with a CV and one or more senior-faculty nomination letters addressing fit, research quality, and evidence of dissemination/service.
