About this program
The American Alpine Club, supported by the Charlie Porter Climate Science Research Fund, offers Research Grants of $500 to $5,000 for scientific projects addressing mountain and climbing ecosystems, environmental management, or the health and sustainability of the climbing community. Applicants must be AAC members and submit a proposal demonstrating scientific or technical merit, applicant qualifications, a strong research framework, dissemination plans, and a detailed budget. Applications of no more than seven pages are due online by 11:59 p.m. MST on April 30, with award decisions expected by mid-July.
