American Humanist Association Chapters Grant (American Empathy Project)

About this program

The American Humanist Association’s American Empathy Project is offering one‑year grants to support and expand AHA Chapters’ initiatives that advance shared humanist values through innovative programming; award amounts vary and partial grants may be made. Grants are for discrete project expenses and cannot be used for ongoing operational costs (rent, salaries, subscriptions), lobbying or partisan activity, and donations to other nonprofits are permitted only as part of a described partnership. Eligible applicants are AHA Chapters in good standing—having at least five AHA members, maintaining two active public contact methods, providing an annual membership list to AHA, openly identifying as an AHA Chapter, and supporting the AHA mission—and applications must be complete (additional information may be requested). Awardees select payment method, must return unspent or unaccounted funds, are required to submit 1–2 reports within 18 months, and are encouraged to provide publicity materials; noncompliance can affect future eligibility.
