ANA Rising Star Award (early career physician-scientist)

About this program

The American Neurological Association’s Rising Star Award recognizes one early‑career physician‑scientist or researcher annually for a significant body of neurology research and includes a $1,000 honorarium, complimentary ANA Annual Meeting registration, a commemorative plaque, and up to $1,500 in travel reimbursement. Eligible applicants must be ANA members in good standing, within eight years of completing their most recent training program, and hold no higher academic rank than assistant professor; academic neurologists and neuroscientists may apply and URiM candidates are encouraged. Applications require two nomination letters (primary from a senior neuroscience colleague and a seconding letter, preferably external), a CV (NIH biosketch optional), and a two‑page research description citing three recent publications/abstracts. The awardee must deliver an oral presentation at the ANA Annual Meeting; selection emphasizes novelty, prospective impact, publication and grant record, and professional recognition.
