Annual Student Prize for Psychological Research on Women and Gender

About this program

The Society for the Psychology of Women (APA) and the Association for Women in Psychology jointly offer an annual student prize recognizing the best student research manuscript on women and gender from a feminist perspective; winners receive $250, a one‑year AWP membership (first prize and honorable mention), and an invitation to present at the AWP Conference. Submissions are judged on feminist theoretical grounding, methodology, clarity and writing quality, and social importance, with intersectional work receiving heightened consideration. Eligible manuscripts must have a student as first author at the time the research was conducted, be journal‑length in APA style, and may be unpublished, submitted/accepted, or published within the award year or the previous year; jointly authored papers are eligible if the first author was a student. To apply, email a cover letter and a de‑identified MS Word manuscript to Rebekah Smart by the annual deadline (listed as April 1).
