AOS Clinician Scientist Award

About this program

The American Otological Society (AOS) Clinician-Scientist Award provides pilot funding and mentorship to early-career otology/neurotology clinician-scientists to develop preliminary data and pursue NIH K-series career development grants (many past CSA recipients have subsequently received NIH K awards). Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, hold a full-time faculty appointment in a U.S. medical school department/division of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, and possess an MD or equivalent awarded within the last 10 years with demonstrated potential for an independent research career in otology/neurotology. Preference is given to candidates who have recently completed or are currently enrolled in a two-year otology/neurotology fellowship (within the past three years); applicants who already hold a career development award are ineligible, concurrent research salary support from other sources is not permitted, and AOS funding ends upon securing federal career development support.
