The American Otological Society (AOS) Research Fund supports basic, translational, and clinical research and training to advance understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of ear, hearing, and balance disorders. Awards include a Clinician-Scientist Award ($80,000 per funding period, up to three years) for early-career otologists/neurotologists, Research Grants (up to $55,000 for one year), Clinical Investigation awards (up to $66,000 for one year), Research Training Fellowships (≈$44,000/year for residents, fellows, or students), and a multi-center clinical cooperative seed grant launching in 2026. Applicants must explain how their project will benefit otological diagnosis or treatment and meet program-specific eligibility (trainee status for fellowships, early-career clinician-scientist status for the Clinician-Scientist Award); junior investigators are especially encouraged. Important deadlines: Letter of Intent by November 1, 2026, and full application due January 31, 2027.
