AOS Student Presentation Awards

About this program

The American Ornithological Society (AOS) awards annual Student Presentation Awards—honoraria of $500–$1,000—recognizing outstanding undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral poster or oral presentations at its annual meeting; awards are administered by the Travel Grants and Presentation Awards Committee. Applicants must submit an abstract via the AOS Abstract Submission Portal and answer the competition questions; spaces are limited and invited nominees will be notified, with all nominees required to follow the AOS Code of Conduct & Ethics. Eligibility requires current AOS membership, status as the sole presenting author, and being a full‑time or recently graduated student (including those who graduated the semester prior); 15‑minute symposium talks are eligible but longer symposium talks are not. Awards are judged on research quality and presentation, preference is given to students nearing completion of their research, and individuals may apply repeatedly but may receive only one AOS presentation award in their lifetime.
