About this program
The A.P. Giannini Foundation invites applications for its 2027 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship & Leadership Award. The program supports postdoctoral biomedical researchers conducting innovative basic or applied research intended to translate biomedical science into prevention, treatments, and cures for human diseases. Fellows receive a $70,000 annual stipend for three years and must participate in training designed to develop communication and leadership skills. The fellowship is awarded competitively through peer review. Applications and reference letters are due November 5, 2026. The Scientific Advisory Committee reviews applications during December and January, applicants are notified of their status on January 25, 2027, and finalists are interviewed in person on March 4, 2027, when the 2027 awardees are selected. Applications are submitted through the Foundation's online portal.
