APA Diversity and Inclusiveness Grant Program

About this program

The American Philosophical Association offers the Diversity and Inclusiveness Grant Program, providing up to $20,000 annually to seed new and innovative projects that increase representation and participation of underrepresented groups in philosophy. The APA favors projects that can serve as models for others, have local support, and demonstrate broader impact rather than single‑institution lecture series. Eligible projects should benefit women, racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people of low socioeconomic status, and other underrepresented groups; funding is generally limited to a maximum of three years and projects may not be submitted concurrently to multiple APA funding streams. Grantees must submit annual evaluation reports (which will be made public) and acknowledge APA funding in publicity materials; inquiries can be sent to grants@apaonline.org.
