APA Small Grant Fund

About this program

The American Philosophical Association’s Small Grant Fund supports member-proposed projects that benefit the field of philosophy, promote community outreach, or serve as innovative seed initiatives; approximately $25,000 is available annually, with requests of $5,000 or less more likely to succeed. Eligible applicants must be APA members, and proposals are due June 30, 2026, for projects generally completed by June 2028. Applications must include a project abstract, purpose, timeline, detailed budget, fiscal agent, relevant CVs, assessment and publicity plans, and information on other funding. Preference is given to new projects with established groundwork, local support, potential for continuation or replication, and no facilities and administrative costs.
