APARRI Working Group Grants

About this program

The Asia Pacific American Religions Research Initiative (APARRI) offers grants of up to $7,000 to support collaborative working groups advancing scholarly and public knowledge of Asian American and Pacific Islander religions, particularly in relation to democracy and pluralistic engagement. Funded groups must produce a tangible scholarly or public product, such as an edited volume, article, podcast series, or symposium, and attend the 2028 APARRI conference. Working groups must include at least three members, with a leader who holds a doctorate and has a formal affiliation with a higher education institution; no more than two members may come from the same institution. The primary contact must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and applications are due December 15, 2026.
