Applying for award funding

About this program

The Law Society Charity offers one‑off financial awards (typically around £5,000) to organisations registered in England or Wales to support specific projects or services. Applicants must download and submit the Word application form by email with the most recent audited financial statements and constitutional documents; the application and any reference forms must be signed and dated, only requested documents should be supplied (application in Word; supporting documents may be PDF). Trustees review applications at quarterly meetings (late submissions are considered at the next meeting) and applicants are usually notified within about four weeks of review; trustees’ decisions are final and appeals or lobbying are discouraged. Awards are assessed on financial need, organisational size and reach, presence of other providers, requirement for additional funding, impact on under‑represented or disadvantaged groups, organisational track record, and compliance with public‑benefit guidance; applicants may re‑apply after at least 12 months (preferably 18 months) for a different project.
