Archie Green Student Travel Award (AFS Public Programs Section)

About this program

The American Folklore Society (AFS) Public Programs Section offers three Archie Green Student Travel Awards of $500 each to help defray travel costs for the AFS annual meeting for graduate and undergraduate students interested in working as public folklorists or whose primary research focuses on public folklore. Applicants must be students (undergraduate or graduate) and submit materials by June 15. Applications require a single Word or PDF with a CV (contact information, university, degree objective, expected completion date), a letter (max 2 pages) describing interest in public folklore, goals for attending the meeting, and a budget of anticipated expenses, plus a letter of support from a faculty member or public folklorist. Submit via the AFS Annual Meeting Travel Awards Application Form and select the Archie Green Student Travel Award.
