Arthur James Boucot Research Grants

About this program

The Paleontological Society’s Arthur James Boucot Research Grants provide approximately $30,000 annually—typically awards of about $5,000, with grants up to $30,000—for original research in morphology, taxonomy, and biostratigraphy, preferably involving fieldwork. Eligible applicants include current postdoctoral researchers, pre-tenure assistant professors, and other early-career paleontologists with a PhD who are affiliated with an eligible research institution. Applicants generally must be Paleontological Society members and may apply internationally except from countries subject to U.S. OFAC sanctions; applications require a research proposal, budget, current and pending support information, and two recommendation letters. Applications and recommendation letters are due by midnight Pacific Time on February 1, and funds cannot support institutional overhead, publication costs, or database-based modeling studies.
