About this program

The New York Community Trust supports nonprofit arts, culture, arts education, advocacy, and historic preservation initiatives serving New York City’s five boroughs. Grants may strengthen organizational capacity, expand access and diverse representation, support public-school arts programming, develop underrepresented young artists, or advance community-based preservation and adaptive reuse of historic places. Applicants are generally expected to be established organizations with annual operating budgets of at least $250,000, with priority for smaller, non-Manhattan, and culturally specific groups. The Trust generally does not fund individual presentations, simultaneous multiple projects, routine maintenance, or capital projects, and applications must address an eligible nonprofit program area.
