Arts Fund for Region One — Susan Fillman Memorial Scholarships & Project Grants

About this program

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, via the Arts Fund for Region One, offers Susan Fillman Memorial individual scholarships and project grants to support K–12 student participation in arts programs, workshops, summer study, and school- or community-based arts projects in the Northwest Corner towns of Canaan (Falls Village), Cornwall, Kent, North Canaan, Salisbury, and Sharon. Individual scholarships typically range $100–$500 (rarely more) and generally cover no more than 25% of program costs; project grants generally range $500–$1,000 (rarely more). Applicants and participating students must reside in one of the six listed towns and be in kindergarten through grade 12 at the time of the funded activity, and project proposals must demonstrate that a majority of participants meet those residency/grade criteria. Applications are reviewed by the Arts Fund governing board and recommended to Berkshire Taconic’s Board of Directors for final approval (incomplete applications are not considered); deadlines include June 15 for Fillman scholarships and 2026-10-15 for project grants, and Berkshire Taconic will not fund organizations that discriminate.
