Arts Fund Grants (ARTS FUND Scholarship Programs)

About this program

The American Australian Association’s Arts Fund Grants (Arts Fund Scholarship Programs) provide awards of up to US$5,000 to support emerging and early-career artists pursuing artistic development between Australia and the United States across theatre, film, television, dance, music, visual arts, design, literature and photography. Funds may be used for travel, living, tuition and other development-related costs; two application rounds are held annually (Round 1: Jan 1–Mar 31; Round 2 provisionally opens Aug 2026). Applicants must be Australian citizens/permanent residents for USA-bound projects or American citizens/permanent residents for Australia-bound projects (dual citizens/residents and prior American Australian Association grant recipients are ineligible), be emerging/early-career artists with a formal host offer/acceptance at time of application, have projects commencing within eight months (or no more than 75% complete if underway), and submit materials including a high-resolution headshot, passport biographic page, host letter, one-page artistic résumé, supporting portfolio, an Arts Fund budget and three letters of recommendation; applications must be prepared and submitted by the artist.
