ARVO Advocacy Awards (Achievements in Eye and Vision Advocacy Award; Emerging Advocate Award)

About this program

The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) offers the Achievements in Eye and Vision Advocacy Award and Emerging Advocate Award to recognize members who advance eye and vision research through policy and government advocacy. Each award includes complimentary registration to the ARVO Annual Meeting and a commemorative plaque. Nominees may reside in any country, must have advocated at any level of government, and cannot be current members of ARVO’s Advocacy and Outreach Committee. The established advocate award requires at least five cumulative years of ARVO membership, while the Emerging Advocate Award requires at least two cumulative years as an ARVO Member-in-Training; nominations must include endorsements, evidence of advocacy, future advocacy plans, and a personal statement, and are due January 8, 2027.
