ASBMB Carers Support Award

About this program

The Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) offers the Carers Support Award providing up to $2,500 annually to help members with primary caring responsibilities cover caregiver-related costs (e.g., childcare, travel for a carer or children) to enable in-person attendance at ASBMB annual scientific meetings (ComBio and ASBMB). Applicants must have been ASBMB members for at least two years immediately preceding application and be presenters at the meeting, with priority given to invited speakers, then abstract-selected speakers, then poster presenters. To apply, email the ASBMB Secretary (v.anggono@uq.edu.au) within one week of Local Conference Organising Committee notification with a brief description of caring responsibilities and estimated costs; recipients must deliver their presentation in person and submit receipts to the ASBMB Treasurer to substantiate expenses.
