ASBMB Leadership Award (Emerging Leadership Award / Sustained Leadership Award)

About this program

The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) offers the ASBMB Leadership Award—alternating annually between an Emerging Leadership Award and a Sustained Leadership Award—to honor individuals who advance the careers of women in biochemistry and molecular biology and demonstrate excellence in research and/or service; the award carries $3,000 plus travel expenses to present a lecture at the ASBMB annual meeting. The Emerging Leadership Award is for assistant or associate professors (or equivalent) with no more than 15 years since receiving a Ph.D. and/or M.D., while the Sustained Leadership Award recognizes full professors or senior scientists with more than 15 years since their Ph.D. and/or M.D. Selection is by the ASBMB Women in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Committee and is nomination-based; current committee members are ineligible and may not submit nominations or support letters.
