ASC Foundation Investigator Grant (Cytology Shark Tank)

About this program

The ASC Foundation (American Society of Cytopathology Foundation) is offering the Investigator Grant (Cytology Shark Tank), a $25,000 research award paid over two years to support innovative projects that advance cytopathology, promote investigator career development, and generate preliminary data for future funding; funded research is to commence January 1, 2025. Applications are evaluated by the ASC Research and Current Concepts Committee with final approval by the ASC Foundation; the top three finalists will present a three-minute "pitch" at the ASC Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando and may attend an improvisational workshop. Eligible applicants are investigators employed by an institution that can receive grant payments, and submissions must be a single PDF containing the applicant’s CV, proposed research plan, two letters of recommendation, a letter from the applicant, a list of active/pending support, and a budget. Projects that apply existing technologies or methods in innovative ways are encouraged, recipients are expected to report outcomes (with encouragement to submit final data to JASC), and the Foundation may choose not to award the grant if suitable applications are not received.
