About this program

The American Society of Hematology’s Hematology Inclusion Pathway (HIP) Mentor Matching Program connects applicants to the HIP Medical Student Award and HIP Resident Award with experienced hematology investigators and established research projects. Matched awardees receive financial support for hematology-focused research, along with career development mentoring throughout medical training and residency. Applicants must be pursuing the HIP Medical Student or Resident Award and have not yet identified a research mentor; matching depends on research interests and mentor-project availability. Applications open August 15, 2026, and are due February 1, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.
