ASHB Student Conference Grant

About this program

The ASHB Student Conference Grant, offered by the Australasian Society for Human Biology (ASHB), provides assistance for postgraduate and honours students to attend the annual ASHB Scientific Conference and present an oral research paper, covering a full conference registration waiver with up to AU$3,500 available from the Society each year. Applicants must be current ASHB members and bona fide postgraduate or honours students, and awardees are required to attend the entire conference and deliver an oral presentation. Applications—typically due at least two months before the conference—must be emailed to the conference organisers and include a concise written paper suitable for a 10–15 minute presentation (normally ≤6 pages, A4, ≥2cm margins, single spaced, ≥10 pt font), an abstract per meeting format (≤250 words), a student declaration of attendance/intent to present, and a supervisor attestation; decisions are emailed to students and supervisors within one week of the due date.
