ASHS Graduate Student Scholars Award

About this program

The American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) offers two $1,500 Graduate Student Scholars Awards annually—one for a master’s student and one for a doctoral student—to recognize achievement and support career development in horticultural science. Applicants must be ASHS members enrolled at a four-year institution, studying horticultural plants, crops, or systems, and demonstrate strong academic performance, thesis or dissertation progress, professional involvement, and commitment to the field. Nominations must come from the department chair, with no more than one nominee per degree category per department, and must include an essay, résumé, transcript, research evidence, and three reference letters. Complete applications are due February 4, and recipients must remain enrolled through the ASHS Annual Conference.
