ASLAP AALAS Travel Award Program

About this program

The American Society of Laboratory Animal Practitioners (ASLAP) offers the AALAS Travel Award Program to support veterinary students and laboratory animal medicine residents/trainees with demonstrated potential in the field to attend the National AALAS meeting, providing up to $1,500 toward travel and meeting expenses. Eligible applicants must be current veterinary students or residents/trainees who are members of their college/school ASLAP Student Chapter or national ASLAP and also Student AVMA or AVMA members in good standing; previous recipients and immediate family members of current ASLAP VSLC, Board of Directors, Awards Nomination Committee members, or major ASLAP Foundation contributors (> $500) are ineligible. Nominations (including self-nominations) are submitted electronically to aslap-info@aslap.org and must include the appropriate nomination form, a current CV, an essay (≤500 words) describing interest and anticipated benefit (note poster/presentation intent if applicable), and an itemized expense estimate not to exceed $1,500; the 2026 nomination deadline is pending.
