ASP Small Research Grant

About this program

The American Society of Primatologists offers Small Research Grants of up to $2,000 for hypothesis-driven studies of primate behavior, social organization, development, reproduction, physiology, anatomy, or evolution; purely welfare- or conservation-focused projects are ineligible. Applications open January 19, 2027, and are due March 20, 2027, with two reference questionnaires due one week later. Applicants must be ASP members, be affiliated with an institution that can administer funds, and undergraduate or graduate students must have a sponsor or mentor; required ethical approval must be obtained before funds are disbursed. Salary, indirect costs, publishing fees, institutional equipment, and conference travel are not eligible expenses.
