About this program
The American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) offers the Jane Silverthorne Early Career Award, an annual monetary prize recognizing exceptionally creative, independent research contributions by scientists at the start of their careers in plant biology. Eligible candidates are generally not more than seven years post-Ph.D. on January 1 of the award year, with career breaks considered, and may be members or non-members of the Society. The award, renamed in 2023 to honor Jane Silverthorne’s contributions and support for early-career researchers, is selected by an ASPB committee.
