ASTRO-BCRF Emerging Investigator Award

ASTRO and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) offer the ASTRO‑BCRF Emerging Investigator Award, providing up to $100,000 for one year to support early‑career research in breast radiation oncology. Applications are due January 29, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET), with award notifications in May 2026 and an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. Eligible applicants are early‑stage investigators (per NIH ESI policy) holding a terminal degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) working in radiation oncology, radiation or cancer biology, or radiation physics who commit at least 20% effort to the project; sponsoring institutions must be U.S. institutions of higher education or qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Applications are submitted via ProposalCentral and must include specified forms and uploaded documents including a 6‑page project plan, 2‑page professional/career development and mentoring plans, biosketches, budget and justification, letters of support, and institutional sign‑off.
