AWIS Caregiver Advancement Scholarship

About this program

The Association for Women in Science (AWIS), with support from the Every Page Foundation, offers the Caregiver Advancement Scholarship to provide up to $575 to cover substitute caregiving or related dependent travel costs so recipients can attend conferences, trainings, or classes. Eligible uses include in‑home respite, extended daycare, or travel expenses for dependents and substitute caregivers. Applicants must be current AWIS members in good standing, serve as a primary unpaid caregiver for a dependent (child, aging relative, partner with disability, etc.), and demonstrate caregiving‑related financial strain via a brief self‑attested explanation (no documentation required). Applications require a 500‑word personal statement, signed self‑attestation, and short budget summary; awards are made on a rolling basis (decisions within ~4 weeks) and recipients must submit a 1–2 paragraph impact report six months after disbursement.
