AWS International Scholarship

About this program

The American Welding Society (AWS) offers an annual $5,000 International Scholarship to support exceptional students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in welding or related joining sciences outside the United States and Canada. Funds are restricted to tuition and fees and are sent directly to the recipient’s educational institution; applications are currently closed and expected to reopen in January 2027. Applicants must be full-time international students who have completed at least one year at a baccalaureate degree-granting institution and provide proof of institutional acceptance and citizenship. AWS membership is recommended but not required, and previous recipients may reapply for up to four total awards.
