AWWA Small System Program Award

About this program

American Water Works Association (AWWA) offers the Small System Program Award to recognize AWWA sections for initiatives that promote small system compliance, quality water service, and section involvement, and to profile programs that other sections can replicate. Up to three awards are granted annually; each winner receives a plaque and $200 to be used specifically for small-system development, and awards may be withheld if submissions do not merit recognition. Eligible applicants are AWWA sections only; nominated activities must have been developed, introduced, or administered by the section within the past year, each section may receive only one award per year, and joint projects with utilities or other organizations are permitted while activities conducted solely by non-section entities are not eligible. Submit a completed entry form plus any letters of commendation (nomination shown as due February 1, winners announced by April 15); entries are evaluated on innovation, effectiveness, practical applicability to other sections, and benefits to small systems, the water industry, and the public.
