Baldwin Language Fellowship

About this program

The Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study offers the Birgit Baldwin Language Fellowship, providing up to $9,000 for study of a Nordic language. Funding supports students who need language training to pursue Scandinavian Studies or related educational and professional goals. Applicants must be undergraduates without access to Nordic-language instruction at their institution or prospective MA/PhD students who do not yet meet language requirements. Applications are due March 4 and must include a statement, CV, unofficial transcripts, and contact information for two references; students from groups underrepresented in SASS are especially encouraged to apply.
