About this program

AOSSM’s Bart Mann Award for the Advancement of Sports Medicine Research honors members who serve as NIH grant application reviewers, supporting professional development and providing clinical expertise to NIH study sections; first‑time NIH reviewers receive a $5,000 cash award while past reviewers receive formal recognition. Applicants must be current AOSSM members who have been selected by the NIH to serve on a study section. To apply, email Lynette Craft, PhD, AOSSM Senior Director of Research, with a description of your NIH study section service (noting first‑time status if applicable), your AOSSM engagement, and your CV; applications are accepted year‑round but must be submitted by July 31, with winners notified by September.
