Basic Human Needs Initiative

About this program

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving offers an $820K grant to support initiatives addressing basic human needs in the Greater Hartford region, with a particular focus on Black and Latine communities. The grant aims to strengthen safety nets and improve lives by funding nonprofits working on food insecurity, homelessness, mental health, and access to essential services.
