About this program

Russell Sage Foundation’s Behavioral Science and Decision Making in Context program funds interdisciplinary research that applies behavioral economics and decision-making perspectives to advance understanding of economic, social, political, and psychological decision processes and institutional practices across domains such as policing, employment, housing, politics, racial/ethnic relations, and immigration. The program supports research grants and fellowships for theory-building, empirical studies, and policy-relevant work that examine how context shapes attitudes, behaviors, and institutional outcomes. Eligible applicants are scholars and research teams from economics, psychology, political science, sociology, law, public policy, and related social sciences proposing rigorous, context-sensitive designs; multidisciplinary collaborations are encouraged.
