BIPOC Scholar Conference Award

About this program

The Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) provides conference fee waivers to support BIPOC scholars attending its Annual Conference and to advance underrepresented voices in children’s literature scholarship. Eligible applicants include BIPOC students, independent scholars, contingent or adjunct faculty, and tenure-stream professors. Applicants must submit a statement describing their eligibility and financial need, a statement explaining the conference’s relevance to their research or professional goals, and a one- to two-page abbreviated CV by February 28. First-time applicants receive priority when requests exceed available funding.
