About this program
The APA Division 7 Boyd McCandless Award recognizes young scientists for distinguished, sustained contributions to developmental psychology through theoretical work, programmatic research, or dissemination of developmental science. Nominations for the 2027 award are accepted January 1–March 15, 2027, with recognition presented at the APA Annual Convention. Nominees must be within seven years of completing their doctorate and be APA Division 7 members by March 15, 2027. Nominations must be submitted by another individual and include a nomination letter, curriculum vitae, up to four representative publications, and contact information for three potential referees.
