Society in Science — The Branco Weiss Fellowship’s Branco Weiss Collaborative Grants Program provides additional funding for one or two collaborative projects each year that pair current and alumni fellows to produce defined tangible outcomes and foster mentorship, new ideas, and enhanced scientific interaction. Applicants submit a brief online proposal (1–2 pages) evaluated on idea quality, team synergy, clarity and feasibility, and must include a clear timeline and budget; projects are expected to be achievable in one to two years. Eligible teams must include at least one current Branco Weiss Fellow (preferably with alumni participation), must not replace a current fellow’s primary project, and may be asked to present progress at the annual meeting. Proposals are due annually on January 31; award amounts are not specified in the announcement.
