Bridge Award in Liver Diseases

About this program

The AASLD Foundation offers a one-year, $100,000 Bridge Award in Liver Diseases to support basic, clinical, translational, or outcomes research while investigators revise and resubmit a highly scored but unfunded NIH R or equivalent federal application. Funds may support PI salary, technical assistance, laboratory supplies, and limited travel, with applications due December 7, 2026. Applicants must be AASLD members at or below the rank of Associate Professor, devote at least 20% effort, and be based at an eligible nonprofit institution in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. The proposed project must be an A1 resubmission submitted within the prior 18 months, and applicants may not hold a federally funded non-mentored grant or significant additional research funding during the award period.
