Bring Back the Native Fish

About this program

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and USDA Forest Service, provided nationwide grants to restore, protect, and enhance sensitive or listed native fish populations and aquatic ecosystems. Supported activities included habitat restoration, in-stream flow improvements, invasive-species management, fisheries innovation, and implementation of the National Fish Habitat Action Plan. Projects were expected to address native fish conservation priorities, particularly on or adjacent to federal lands, and demonstrate collaboration among federal agencies, Tribes, states, private landowners, corporations, and other partners.
