BSC Early Career Investigator Award

About this program

The Biophysical Society of Canada (BSC) offers the annual Early Career Investigator Award to recognize emerging leaders who have made outstanding contributions to biophysics; the recipient receives a plaque, delivers a plenary lecture at the BSC Annual Meeting, and is awarded a $300 honorarium plus a contribution toward travel expenses. Nominees must be within ten years of their first independent research position (excluding leaves of absence) and be employed at a Canadian university or research institution, in any biophysics subfield. Nominations, submitted by a BSC member in good standing by August 1, must include a one-page nominator cover letter, the nominee’s current CV, and two arms-length supporting letters; candidates are reviewed by the Awards Committee and selected by the BSC Executive with adjudication guided by Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles.
