BSG Carer Support Grant

About this program

The British Society for Geomorphology (BSG) offers the Carer Support Grant of up to £1,000 to cover additional caring costs (e.g., extra home or nursing care, respite care, travel for a dependent or carer, extended childminder/careworker hours) incurred while attending geomorphology-related conferences, meetings, field research, training or internships; funds may not be used to pay for the academic activity itself. Applicants must be current BSG members and submit requests before the activity (retrospective applications are not accepted); previous awardees may reapply but priority is given to those who have not previously claimed and to conference presenters. Applications are made via the online BSG grants system (login to BSG account → Grants → apply) for rounds normally closing 30 September and 1 February (check the specific call); successful applicants must acknowledge BSG (and Wiley where relevant), claim awarded funds within one month of notification, and provide a short report and expenditure account after the activity.
