BSR Early Career Research Funding Call

About this program

The British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) Early Career Research Funding Call supports early-career members of the rheumatology multidisciplinary team with minimal prior research experience to develop their research skills through short-term projects lasting six months to one year. Awards of £20,000-£40,000 fund standalone projects or pilot studies that may lead to larger grants or PhD applications and can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis. Applicants must be subscribed BSR members practicing within the rheumatology MDT across adult, paediatric, and adolescent settings, and previous award recipients are ineligible to reapply. Priority is given to projects aligned with BSR guidelines, utilizing BSR registers or audit data, or addressing areas such as paediatric and adolescent rheumatology, health services research, chronic pain, rare diseases, and COVID-19-related issues.
