The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) Research Committee annually confers the Cabaud Memorial Award, in honor of Henry Edward Cabaud III, MD, to recognize the best full‑length manuscript addressing hard or soft tissue biology, in‑vitro or other laboratory (“bench‑type”) research, or in‑vivo animal studies. The award targets basic science and laboratory investigations that advance understanding of musculoskeletal and sports medicine biology. Eligible candidates are authors of full‑length manuscripts submitted for consideration that specifically pertain to the listed areas; recipients are selected annually by the Research Committee.
