CAG Education Research Grant

About this program

The Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG), in partnership with the AbbVie Centre of Excellence in Continuing Health Education, offers the Education Research Grant to fund one‑year medical education research projects in Canadian gastroenterology, providing up to two non‑renewable awards of $7,500 each (Jan 1–Dec 31). Projects must meet contemporary standards of educational research (relevance, rigorous design, feasible budget and timeline) with encouraged topics such as curriculum design/implementation, assessment strategies, CanMEDS curriculum/assessment, and procedural skills education. Eligible applicants are CAG members engaged in teaching and/or medical education research in Canada; preference is given to proposals that include a dedicated trainee (preferably a GI fellow), only one proposal per investigator is allowed, and applicants must disclose prior funding and specify how the CAG funds will be used. Applications (CV, Canadian Practice Intention Statement, proposal, budget, letter of support) must be submitted via the single‑session online form by Nov 30 (11:59 PM ET); the Education Affairs Committee reviews applications, successful applicants must provide a short progress report and present their work at CDDW.
