CAMWS Award for Special Service

About this program

The Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) offers the Award for Special Service to recognize exceptional promotion of classics, Latin, and classical studies or significant contributions to the profession within CAMWS territory. The award is given as needed and may honor classicists or non-classicists, including community members, educators, organizations, benefactors, administrators, and students. CAMWS membership is not required, but nominees must have made notable contributions, particularly at the state or local level. Nominations must include a signed 500–600-word statement describing the nominee’s work and be submitted by January 30; supporting materials may be requested.
