CAMWS Excavation and Field School Awards

About this program

The Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) offers three annual $2,000 awards to support participation in summer excavations or field schools at archaeological sites in the Greco-Roman world, including excavation, illustration, digital recording, and artifact analysis. Applicants must be current CAMWS members who are eligible teachers or students in Classics or related fields focused on the Greco-Roman world; professional archaeologists are not eligible. Applications, including recommendation letters, are due January 30, with priority generally given to applicants lacking prior Greco-Roman excavation experience.
