Capacity Building grants

About this program

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation offers one-time Capacity Building grants of $100,000–$250,000 to strengthen the internal effectiveness, sustainability, and long-term impact of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Funding may support leadership and staff development, board strengthening, technology, evaluation, strategic planning, communications, financial health, and other organizational capacity needs aligned with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. Eligible applicants must clearly identify a specific organizational need, explain why the investment is timely and appropriate as a one-time grant, and provide a budget, milestones, anticipated outcomes, and a plan to sustain its benefits beyond the grant period.
